AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS - POST 166 TO HOST A BENEFIT RIDE JUNE 5TH

The American Legion Riders, Post #166, out of Shellsburg, will be holding a benefit ride on Saturday, June 5th  9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to raise money to help our veterans, their families, including those that serve them and our communities. Kickstands will go up at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $10 per person.There will also be a freewill donation breakfast from 8-10 a.

2021 Benton County Shelter In Relay For Life: Sunday, June 6th

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Benton County, a virtual event, will be held Sunday, June 6th, 2021, at 5:00 PM. This date is also the 34th annual National Cancer Survivors Day. National Cancer Survivors Day is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community.

Friends of the Center Point Library to hold Book Sale June 11,12

The Friends of the Center Point Library's annual used book sale will be Friday, June 11, 3-7,, and Saturday, June 12, 9-1:30, in the Library community room.  Hardcovers are $1, paperbacks 50 cents and children's books 25 cents.  There will be a special sale of books and collectibles belonging to Center Point "cat lady" and Library benefactor the late Marilyn Andersen.

Nathan's Miles Glow Trail to open May 27

Click to view the story behind Nathan's Smile I mean Nathan's Miles.Vinton Parks and Recreation will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Nathan's Miles Glow Trail on Thursday evening, May 27th at 9:30 p.m. on the corner of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School. The trail is named in honor of Vinton's City Council Member Nathan Hesson who passed away in January of this year.
